The Wind in Bible versus Quran (1)

This is the first article of the series:” The Wind in Bible versus Quran”.

 

The Bible says that the Lord God has mouth, nostrils, feet and He was seen flying on the wings of the wind. The Noble Quran says that Naught is as Allah’s likeness in attributes.  Any form, picture, thoughts that you put the Almighty Creator in it is absolutely wrong.

The Wind in the Bible (1)

 

In 2 Samuel 22:7-17, Kind David says:

In my distress I called to the LORD; I called out to my God. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came to his ears. “The earth trembled and quaked, the foundations of the heavens shook; they trembled because he was angry. Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it.  He parted the heavens and came down; dark clouds were under his feet. He mounted the cherubim and flew; he soared on the wings of the wind.  He made darkness his canopy around him— the dark rain clouds of the sky. Out of the brightness of his presence bolts of lightning blazed forth.  The LORD thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded.  He shot arrows and scattered the enemies, bolts of lightning and routed them.  The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at the rebuke of the LORD, at the blast of breath from his nostrils.  “He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters.

Herein, there are some very important points:

1) The Bible describes the lord God, the Almighty Creator as He has mouth, nostrils, feet and He was seen flying on the wings of the wind.

2) The Bible describes the lord God, the Almighty Creator as a body which descends

3) The thunder is the voice of the lord God, the Almighty Creator.

4) The Lord God did and performed many movements and acts to save David.

5) The speed of the Lord God was that of the wind

6) The wind has wings!

All of these points are ABSOLUTELY denied in the Noble Quran because:

1) The Noble Quran says that Naught is as Allah’s likeness in attributes.  Any form, picture, thoughts that you put the Almighty Creator in it is absolutely wrong.

2) The Almighty Creator is not a body

3) The thunder is not the voice of the Almighty Creator.

4) When the Almighty Creator decides upon a matter, when He wants to do anything, He only says to it ‘Be!’ and it is.  Hence, He could save David in fraction of a second if He willed.

5) The speed of the Lord God was that of the wind; for instance, does not He know the speed of the light?  However, Naught is as Allah’s likeness in attributes. 

6) The wind has no wings!

7) The Great Prophet King David can not say that about the Almighty Creator simply because he knows better who Allah is.

10And He inclineth heaven, and cometh down, And thick darkness [is] under His feet.

11And He rideth on a cherub, and doth fly, And is seen on the wings of the wind.

12And He setteth darkness Round about Him — tabernacles, Darkness of waters — thick clouds of the skies.

13From the brightness before Him Were brands of fire kindled!

14Thunder from the heavens doth Jehovah, And the Most High giveth forth His voice.

The Wind in the Noble Quran (1)

In this article, the following four points will be discussed:

1) The Wind and the similitude of the righteous works of the disbelievers

2) The Wind and the likeness of the disbelievers who are Anti-Islam

3) What if Allah wants to do anything?

4) The Golden verse (faith-wise) of the Quran that describes the Almighty Creator

1) The Wind and the similitude of the righteous works of the disbelievers

 

Verse 14: 18 says:

 

QARIB: as for the likeness of those who disbelieve in their lord, their works are like ashes which a strong wind scatters on a stormy day; they are powerless over that they have earned; that is the far error.

SHAKIR: the parable of those who disbelieve in their lord: their actions are like ashes on which the wind blows hard on a stormy day; they shall not have power over any thing out of what they have earned; this is the great error

PICKTHAL: a similitude of those who disbelieve in their lord: their works are as ashes which the wind bloweth hard upon a stormy day. they have no control of aught that they have earned. that is the extreme failure.

YUSUFALI: the parable of those who reject their lord is that their works are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a tempestuous day: no power have they over aught that they have earned: that is the straying far, far (from the goal).

 

The meanings of the verse:

 

In this verse, the Quran gives a similitude, the likeness, the description, of the righteous works of those who disbelieve in their Lord such as kindness [to kin] or an act of charity in the way that no benefit can be derived from them.

Allah says: the works of those who disbelieve in their Lord are as ashes which the wind blows hard upon a stormy day, one in which the winds blow violently, making them as scattered dust, over which none can have power. They have no control of aught that they have earned.

Allah says: they will not find the reward of their good works which were performed in their state of disbelief, just as one will not find ashes when the wind blows hard on it.  The disbelievers, have no power over anything that they have earned, [anything] that they had done in [their] life on earth, in other words, they shall find no reward for it, since this was never a precondition. That is extreme error, [extreme] perdition!

That is the extreme failure; the error which is far remote from the Truth or guidance.

2) The Wind and the likeness of the disbelievers who are Anti-Islam

 

Verse 3: 117 says:

 

QARIB: the wealth they spend in this worldly life is like a freezing wind that smites the harvest of a people who have wronged themselves and destroys it. Allah has not wronged them, but they wronged themselves.

SHAKIR: the likeness of what they spend in the life of this world is as the likeness of wind in which is intense cold (that) smites the seed produce of a people who haw done injustice to their souls and destroys it; and Allah is not unjust to them, but they are unjust to themselves

PICKTHAL: the likeness of that which they spend in this life of the world is as the likeness of a biting, icy wind which smiteth the harvest of a people who have wronged themselves, and devastateth it. Allah wronged them not, but they do wrong themselves.

YUSUFALI: what they spend in the life of this (material) world may be likened to a wind which brings a nipping frost: it strikes and destroys the harvest of men who have wronged their own souls: it is not Allah that hath wronged them, but they wrong themselves.

 

The meanings of the verse:

 

The likeness, the description, of what they, the disbelievers, expend in the life of this world, in the way of enmity towards the Prophet Muhammad or in the way of voluntary almsgiving or the like, is as the likeness of a wind wherein is a blast, of extreme hot or cold, that smote the tillage, the crops, of a people who have wronged themselves, through unbelief and disobedience, and destroyed it, so that they could not profit from it; so it is with what they expend, it perishes and they profit nothing from it. Also, they have wronged themselves by not giving what is due to Allah from it, (and devastated it) ruined it; likewise, idolatry destroys one’s spending just as wind destroys the harvest.

Allah did not wrong them, when they lost what they expended, but they wronged themselves, through unbelief, which necessitated this loss.

In other words, Allah did not wrong them by thwarting the benefit of their harvest and spending, but they did wrong themselves through disbelief and withholding what is due to Allah from the harvest.

3) What if Allah wants to do anything?

 

Verse 36: 82 says:

 

QARIB: when he wills a thing, his command is to say to it ‘be’, and it is!

SHAKIR: his command, when he intends anything, is only to say to it: be, so it is

PICKTHAL: but his command, when he intendeth a thing, is only that he saith unto it: be! and it is.

YUSUFALI: verily, when he intends a thing, his command is, “be”, and it is!

 

The meanings of the verse:

 

His command, His affair, when He wills a thing, that is, [when He will] to create something, or to do anything is just to say to it ‘Be’, and it is.

 

Also, Verse 40: 68 says

 

QARIB: it is he who gives life and makes to die, and when he decrees a thing, he says to it: ‘be and it is!

SHAKIR: he it is who gives life and brings death, so when he decrees an affair, he only says to it: be, and it is

PICKTHAL: he it is who quickeneth and giveth death. when he ordaineth a thing, he saith unto it only: be! and it is.

YUSUFALI: it is he who gives life and death; and when he decides upon an affair, he says to it, “be”, and it is.

 

The meanings of the verse:

 

Allah is He Who gives life and brings death; No one else can do that. So when He decides upon a matter, [when] He wants to bring something into existence, He only says to it ‘Be!’ and it is.  In other words, it comes into existence after He has willed it, that which is signified by the said words.

4) The Golden verse (faith-wise) of the Quran that describes the Almighty Creator

 

Verse42: 11 says

 

QARIB: the originator of the heavens and the earth, he has given you from yourselves, pairs, and also pairs of cattle, thereby multiplying you. there is nothing like him. he is the hearer, the seer.

SHAKIR: the originator of the heavens and the earth; he made mates for you from among yourselves, and mates of the cattle too, multiplying you thereby; nothing like a likeness of him; and he is the hearing, the seeing

PICKTHAL: the creator of the heavens and the earth. he hath made for you pairs of yourselves, and of the cattle also pairs, whereby he multiplieth you. naught is as his likeness; and he is the hearer, the seer.

YUSUFALI: (he is) the creator of the heavens and the earth: he has made for you pairs from among yourselves, and pairs among cattle: by this means does he multiply you: there is nothing whatever like unto him, and he is the one that hears and sees (all things).

 

The meanings of the verse:

 

He (Allah) is the Originator of the heavens and the earth, the One Who created them [without precedent]. He has made for you, from your own selves, pairs, when He created Eve from Adam’s rib, and [also] pairs, males and females, of the cattle and whereby He multiplies you through marriage. There is nothing like Him; there is no likeness of Him, exalted be He). He is the Hearer, of what you say, the Seer, of your works.  Naught is as His likeness in attributes, knowledge, power and providence etc.

The basic point of faith is that Naught is as your Almighty creator.

Since man is a creature which has Spirit that gives him like; and since Naught is as the likeness of your Creator, then the Almighty Creator has NO SPIRIT.

Hence, the Almighty Creator is not a body or material like us.  Any form, picture or thoughts that you put the Almighty Creator in it is absolutely wrong.

According to the Islamic Rule of Faith, if any one put the Almighty Creator in any form, picture or thoughts, he or she is Disbeliever and has No faith; and he will end up in the Hereafter as a dweller of the Eternal Fire.

This is in spite of what name(s) you are giving to your Almighty Creator e.g. Allah, Lord, God, Jehovah etc.

On the other hand, the vice versa is absolutely True!

The Sons of the Lord God in Bible versus Quran (20)

This is the 20th article (and the last one) of the series:

“The Sons of the Lord God in Bible versus Quran”

 

The Bible says that the Lord Jesus said no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again of water and the Spirit and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit. The Noble Quran says that the Spirit belongs to Allah’s knowledge, about which you know not. Also the Quran replies the disbelievers who claim that the Angels are God’s daughters; and also, the Quran answers the dualists who claim that Satan is Allah’s partner.

 

It is interesting that the Bible claims that the Lord Jesus said that the wind blows wherever it pleases, you hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from and you cannot tell where it goes.

From the scientific point of view, winds are plotted on surface weather analyses indicating the direction the wind is blowing from as well as its strength, and over much of the globe wind speeds are measured over a ten-minute time frame. Wind direction is reported by the direction from which it originates and where it goes with the use of weather vanes. Everyday, the “Weather Forecasts” on TV, radio, newspaper etc. determine precisely the direction of the wind, where it comes from and where it goes.

Hence, the Bible initiates an important question:

Has the Lord Jesus refuted the climatology and the Wind Advisory? Has the Lord Jesus denied the Weather Forecasts?

As a matter of fact, I do not believe that the Lord Jesus said that; He knows better than the Scientists.

The Sons of the Lord God in the Bible (20)

 

The Bible (John 3:1-8) says:

Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him.” In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”  “How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!” Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.  You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’  The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

The Sons of the Lord God in the Quran (20)

 

The Noble Quran says that the Spirit is of the command of Allah; it belongs to His knowledge, about which you know not.

Also, the Quran answers back the disbelievers who claim that the angels were God’s daughters by asking them many sensible questions.

In addition, the Quran replies the dualists who claim that Satan is Allah’s partner in that Allah created the good things while Satan created the evil ones.

Then, the Quran says that Allah exonerates Himself from the lies they attribute unto Him.  He is exalted, above what they attribute to Him in the way of His having a child or a partner.

Essentially, the Quran decisively forbids saying that Allah has a son.

It is not befitting for the Majesty of Allah to take to Himself a son.

Allah is exalted, magnified; He is above what they associate with Him of son or partner.  Allah is far transcendent above all that they ascribe unto Him!

In Islam, this point is very important faith wise.

  1. Basically, it is unforgivable sin to say or to believe that the One Almighty Creator [who is Allah or God or the Lord or Jehovah or whatever name(s) you are giving Him] has a son or Sons.

From the Islamic point of view, the conclusion of this essential topic that may establish or tear down the faith is that:

Any one who believe that the Almighty Creator has a son or Sons; he corrupts and spoils his faith and he is considered as a disbeliever; and in the afterlife he will dwell in the eternal fire.

Any one who believes that the Almighty Creator has no son or partner, he has a good faith and he is considered as a believer; and in the afterlife, he will dwell in the eternal paradise. 

Verses 17:85 and 37:149-159 of the Noble Quran (respectively) make the topic of the Spirit and the son(s) of God plain, clear and understandable.

The meanings of verse 17:85

The background of the verse

It is narrated that some members of the Jewish ruling council went to the Prophet Muhammad and asked him: O Muhammad, what do you say about the Spirit? They asked him this question to know if he is a true or a false prophet.  Muhammad kept quiet. Then a revelation was coming to him.

Allah, exalted is He, revealed this verse (17:85):

“They are asking thee concerning the Spirit. Say: The Spirit is by command of my Lord, and of knowledge ye have been vouchsafed but little”.

 

The meaning of the verse 17:85

And they (that is, the Jews) will question you O Muhammad, concerning the Spirit, from which the body receives life. Say, to them: ‘the Spirit is of the marvels of my Lord; the Spirit is of the command of my Lord, that is, it belongs to His knowledge, about which you know not. And of knowledge you have not been given except a little’, relative to His knowledge, exalted be He.

The meanings of verse 37:149

Before Islam, the ignorant disbelievers among Arabs used to hate having female girls and they preferred having sons, also, they used to kill their female because they think that it is shameful to have females and it is an honor to have sons. On the other hand, they claim that the Angels are God’s daughters!  The verse says: So ask the disbelievers (O Muhammad): are daughters to be for your Lord, after their claim that the angels were God’s daughters, while sons are to be for them? Do you wish for Allah what you do not wish for yourselves? “That is to say, the best (as they think) are exclusively theirs?

 

The meanings of verse 37:150

Or did Allah create the angels females as you claim while they were witnesses to the act of Allah’s creation? Were they present thereof that they might then say such a thing?

 

The meanings of verse 37:151

Lo! It is indeed out of their [own] mendacity, their [own] lies, it is of their falsehood) it is due to their denial that they say,

 

The meanings of verse 37:152

God has begotten’, for they claimed the angels are Allah’s daughters. And verily they are liars, in what they say.

 

The meanings of verse 37:153

And again of their falsehood, Has Allah preferred daughters to sons?

 

The meanings of verse 37:154

What is wrong with you? How do you judge? It means that you consider having female an evil and shameful although you choose for Allah what you would not accept for yourselves,

 

The meanings of verse 37:155

Will you not then remember? Will you not then reflect? Will you not take heed from what you say? That Allah, glory be to Him, is exalted above having a child?

 

The meanings of verse 37:156

Or do you have a clear warrant, a Scripture stating that the angels are Allah’s daughters? Do you have a plain definitive proof that God has a child?

 

The meanings of verse 37:157

Allah said: then produce your scripture, and show Me that the angels are Allah’s daughters in it, if you are being truthful, about this statement of yours.

 

The meanings of verse 37:158

And the disbelievers have set up between Allah, exalted be He, and the angels a kinship, by saying that they are God’s daughters, while the angels certainly know that the disbelievers shall indeed be arraigned, into the Eternal Fire, to be chastised therein.

It is also said that this verse was revealed about the dualists who claimed that Satan is Allah’s partner in that Allah created the good things while Satan created the evil ones; However, the angels know well that the disbelievers who claim that will be brought before Allah and will be chastised in the Eternal Hell.

 

The meanings of verse 37:159

Glorified be Allah, He exonerates Himself from the lies they attribute unto Him.  He is exalted, above what they attribute, to Him in the way of His having a child or a partner.

“Allah has begotten children”? but they are liars!

Will ye not then receive admonition?

Or have ye an authority manifest?

Then bring ye your book (of authority) if ye be truthful!

And they have invented a blood-relationship between him and the angels: but the angels know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his judgment-seat)!

Glory to Allah! (he is free) from the things they ascribe (to him)!

The Sons of the Lord God in Bible versus Quran (19)

This is the 19th article of the series:” The Sons of the Lord God in Bible versus Quran”.

The Bible says: Set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. Be holy in all you do; Live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear. But with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.  For, “All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall.

The Noble Quran says that Jesus, the son of Mary, was only a messenger sent to his people; and it is an unforgivable sin if you say or believe that the Almighty Creator has a son or sons; this major sin will lead to the Eternal Fire in the Hereafter. Also the Quran says that the whole worlds, not only this world, are under the control of Allah.

In addition, the Bible says that the precious blood of Christ is as of a lamb. According to the Quran, it is an insult to say that Jesus’ blood or any other prophet’s blood is like a lamb’s blood.

The Sons of the Lord God in the Bible (19)

The Bible (1 Peter 1:13-25) says:

Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.  But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” Since you call on a Father who judges each man’s work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear. For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God. Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart. For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For, “All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you.

1 Peter 1:13-25 in three different versions of the Bible:

20He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.

21Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.

22Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart.

23For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

24For, “All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall,

25but the word of the Lord stands forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you.

17and if on the Father ye do call, who without acceptance of persons is judging according to the work of each, in fear the time of your sojourn pass ye,

18having known that, not with corruptible things — silver or gold — were ye redeemed from your foolish behaviour delivered by fathers,

19but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and unspotted — Christ’s –

20foreknown, indeed, before the foundation of the world, and manifested in the last times because of you,

21who through him do believe in God, who did raise out of the dead, and glory to him did give, so that your faith and hope may be in God.

22Your souls having purified in the obedience of the truth through the Spirit to brotherly love unfeigned, out of a pure heart one another love ye earnestly,

23being begotten again, not out of seed corruptible, but incorruptible, through a word of God — living and remaining — to the age;

24because all flesh [is] as grass, and all glory of man as flower of grass; wither did the grass, and the flower of it fell away,

25and the saying of the Lord doth remain — to the age; and this is the saying that was proclaimed good news to you.

The Sons of the Lord God in the Quran (19)

The Noble Quran says that even the believers among the Jinn (invisible creatures) believe that Allah, the Almighty Creator) has taken neither spouse nor son as the disbelievers claim; and that Satan used to utter atrocious lies against God, by attributing to Him a spouse and a son.

Also, the Quran answers the claim of the Jews and the Christians who said

None shall enter Paradise except those who are Jews or Christians

Each party separately was claiming Paradise for its members exclusively.

Essentially, the Quran decisively forbids saying that Allah has a son.

It is not befitting for the Majesty of Allah to take to Himself a son.

Allah is exalted, magnified; He is above what they associate with Him of son or partners.  Allah is far transcendent above all that they ascribe unto Him!

In Islam, this point is very important faith wise.

  1. Again, it is unforgivable sin to say or to believe that the One Almighty Creator [who is Allah or God or the Lord or Jehovah or whatever name(s) you are giving Him] has a son or Sons.

From the Islamic point of view, the conclusion of this essential topic that may establish or destroy the faith is that:

Any one who believe that the Almighty Creator has a son or Sons; he messes up his faith and is considered as a disbeliever and in the afterlife he will end up as an eternal inhabitant of the hell.

Any one who believes that the Almighty Creator has no son or partner, he has a good faith and is considered as a believer; and in the afterlife, he will end up as an eternal inhabitant of the paradise. 

Verses 72:1-5 and 2:111-112 of the Noble Quran make the topic of the son(s) of God plain, clear and understandable.

Verse 72:1

The background of the verse

The Prophet Muhammad was praying the Morning Pray (about one hour before the sun rise) at a location which is near Mecca. The Prophet was reciting the Quran during his Morning Pray. Then, it happened that a company of nine jinn listened to the recitation of the Prophet Muhammad.

These Jinn believed in the Quran.

Upon returning to their folk (their tribe of Jinn), after accepting faith, they said to them: O our folk! We have listened to the recitation of a marvelous Quran, which guides to righteousness.

These jinn were those mentioned in Allah’s saying:

“And when Allah sent a company of jinn your way…’ [See verse 46:29].

Jinn are invisible creatures; the Angel Gabriel has come down and informed the Prophet Muhammad about their story.

The meaning of the verse 72:1:

Say, O Muhammad, to the disbelievers of Mecca that it has been revealed to me that a company of Jinn listened (to the Qur’an); and they said: “we have really heard a marvelous recital!”

 

The meanings of verse 72:2

The Jinn continue: “The marvelous recital we have heard guides to rectitude, to faith and propriety; which leads to the Truth, guidance and right course, i.e. to “there is no deity except Allah”, Therefore we believe in it and we will never, after this day, associate anyone with our Lord (and we ascribe unto our Lord no partner)”.

 

The meanings of verse 72:3

The Jinn continue: “And, now we believe that He-exalted be the glory of our Lord and that the dominion of our Lord is exalted; the tremendousness, sovereignty, absoluteness and attributes of our Lord are far exalted; transcendent is His majesty and magnificence above what is ascribed to Him.

And He has taken neither spouse nor son as the disbelievers claim”,

 

The meanings of verse 72:4

The Jinn continue: “And that the devil, Satan, the foolish and the ignorant one among us used to utter atrocious lies against God, extreme calumny by attributing to Him a spouse and a son”.

 

The meanings of verse 72:5

The Jinn continue: “And we thought that humans and jinn would never utter a lie against God, by attributing such things to Him, until we discovered their mendacity thereby.  In other words, the verse says: And lo! We had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah) and we thought that what humans and the jinn said about Allah was not a lie, but we know now that it is”.

From the beginning of the Surah (Chapter 72) up to this verse, Allah related what the jinn said.  The interested reader is invited to read the whole Surah (chapter 72) of the Noble Quran.

The meanings of Verse 2:111

The Jews and the Christians who used to dwell around the Saudi Arabia said when they disputed with the Prophet Muhammad: “None shall enter Paradise except those who are Jews or Christians”.  Each party separately was claiming Paradise for its members exclusively.

Allah answered both of them in this verse and said:

“Such, sayings, are their vain desires, their false passions. Say, to them O Muhammad: ‘Bring your proof from your own respective Books (if you are truthful) in your claim”.

 

The meanings of Verse 2:112

Nay, it is certainly not as you have claimed, but whoever submits his whole self to Allah (his Almighty Creator) and is a doer of good, whoever makes sincere his Religion and works to Allah,  he will get his reward with his lord in Paradise; on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. In other words, there shall no fear come upon them about staying eternally in hell neither shall they grieve about the prospect of missing Paradise.

PICKTHAL: say (o Muhammad): it is revealed unto me that a company of the jinn gave ear, and they said: lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur’an,

YUSUFALI: say: it has been revealed to me that a company of jinns listened (to the Qur’an). they said, ‘we have really heard a wonderful recital!

 

Verse 72:2

QARIB: that guides to the right path. we believe in it and we will not associate anyone with our lord.

SHAKIR: guiding to the right way, so we believe in it, and we will not set up any one with our lord:

PICKTHAL: which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our lord.

YUSUFALI: ‘it gives guidance to the right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our lord.

 

Verse 72:3

QARIB: he exalted be the majesty of our lord, who has neither taken to himself a wife, nor a son!

SHAKIR: and that he– exalted be the majesty of our lord– has not taken a consort, nor a son:

PICKTHAL: and (we believe) that he – exalted be the glory of our lord! – hath taken neither wife nor son,

YUSUFALI: ‘and exalted is the majesty of our lord: he has taken neither a wife nor a son.

 

Verse 72:4

QARIB: the ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah,

SHAKIR: and that the foolish amongst us used to forge extravagant things against Allah:

PICKTHAL: and that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie.

YUSUFALI: ‘there were some foolish ones among us, who used to utter extravagant lies against Allah;

 

Verse 72:5

QARIB: we never thought that either human or jinn would ever tell a lie against Allah!” ‘

SHAKIR: and that we thought that men and jinn did not utter a lie against Allah:

PICKTHAL: and lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah -

YUSUFALI: ‘but we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah.

Verse 2:111

QARIB: they say: ‘none but Jews and Nazarenes shall be admitted to paradise. ‘ such are their wishful fancies. say: ‘bring us your proof, if what you say is true. ‘

SHAKIR: and they say: none shall enter the garden (or paradise) except he who is a Jew or a Christian. these are their vain desires. say: bring your proof if you are truthful

PICKTHAL: and they say: none entereth paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian. these are their own desires. say: bring your proof (of what ye state) if ye are truthful.

YUSUFALI: and they say: “none shall enter paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian.” those are their (vain) desires. say: “produce your proof if ye are truthful.”

 

Verse 2:112

QARIB: indeed, whoever submits his face to Allah and does good works shall be rewarded by his lord; there they shall have nothing to fear nor shall they be saddened.

SHAKIR: yes! whoever submits himself entirely to Allah and he is the doer of good (to others) he has his reward from his lord, and there is no fear for him nor shall he grieve

PICKTHAL: nay, but whosoever surrendereth his purpose to Allah while doing good, his reward is with his lord; and there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.

YUSUFALI: nay,-whoever submits his whole self to Allah and is a doer of good,- he will get his reward with his lord; on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

The Sons of the Lord God in Bible versus Quran (18)

This is the 18th article of the series:” The Sons of the Lord God in Bible versus Quran”.

The Bible says: I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.  We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one that was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him. We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true—even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

The Noble Quran says that the Messiah, Jesus Christ, the son of Mary, was only a messenger sent to his people; and it is an unforgivable sin if you say or believe that the Almighty Creator has a son or sons; this major sin will lead to the Eternal Fire in the Hereafter. Also the Quran says that the whole worlds, not only this world, are under the control of Allah.

The Sons of the Lord God in the Quran (18)

The Noble Quran makes the topic of the son(s) of God very clear and says that Allah, the Almighty Creator, has neither a son nor a partner.

In addition, The Quran makes the signs that Jesus was not god very understandable.

The Quran says: O mankind! The Messenger, Muhammad has now come to you with the truth from your Lord; and if you disbelieve in Allah, your disbelief will not harm Him

To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and in the earth, as possessions, creatures and servants, and such sovereignty is not compatible with the prophet-hood of Jesus. God suffices as a Guardian, a Witness to this.

The Quran decisively forbids saying that Allah has a son.

It is not befitting for the Majesty of Allah to take to Himself a son.

Allah is exalted, magnified; He is above what they associate with Him of son or partners.  Allah is far transcendent above all that they ascribe unto Him!

O mankind! The Messenger, Muhammad has now come to you with the truth from your Lord; with the declaration of Allah’s divine Oneness and the Quran from your Lord. Therefore believe) in Muhammad and the Quran so believe in him and seek what, it is better for you, than that which you are presently seeking.

And if you disbelieve, in Allah, Muhammad and the Quran, then surely to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and in the earth, as possessions, creatures and servants, and your disbelief will not harm Him; and Allah is ever Knowing of His creation; He is ever Knower of those who believe and those who do not. He is the Wise in what He does with them and in that He ordained that they should not worship other than Him.

 

The meanings of verse 4:171

O People of the Gospel, do not go to extremes, do not go beyond the bounds, do not exaggerate, do not be extreme in your religion and do not say about God except, the saying of, the truth, such as exalting Him above any associations with a partner or a son.

The Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, was only the Messenger of God, and His Word (that is “Be”) which He conveyed unto Mary and through His word Jesus became a created being, (and a spirit from Him) and through His command, Jesus became a son without a father.

He [Jesus] is here attached to God, exalted be He, as an honoring for him, and not as you claim, that he is the son of God, or a god alongside Him, or one of three, because one that possesses a spirit is compound, while God transcends being compound and the attribution of compounds to Him.

  1. Refrain, from this and say what, it is better for you, to say, which the profession of Allah Oneness is.

Verily, God is but One God. Glory be to Him, transcending [the possibility], that He should have a son!

To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and in the earth, as possessions, creatures and servants, and such sovereignty is not compatible with the prophet-hood of Jesus. God suffices as a Guardian, a Witness to this.

In other words, the verse says, Allah is only One God without a son or partner. Far is it removed from His Transcendent Majesty that he should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth are His servants. And Allah is sufficient as Defender, as Lord of all created beings and He is witness of what He says about Jesus.

Verse 4:170

QARIB: o people, the messenger (prophet Muhammad) has come to you with the truth from your lord, so believe, it is better for you. if you disbelieve, to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. and Allah is the knower, the wise.

SHAKIR: o people! surely the messenger has come to you with the truth from your lord, therefore believe, (it shall be) good for you and if you disbelieve, then surely whatever is in the heavens and the earth is Allah’s; and Allah is knowing, wise

PICKTHAL: o mankind! the messenger hath come unto you with the truth from your lord. therefor believe; (it is) better for you. but if ye disbelieve, still, lo! unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth. Allah is ever knower, wise.

YUSUFALI: o mankind! the messenger hath come to you in truth from Allah: believe in him: it is best for you. but if ye reject faith, to Allah belong all things in the heavens and on earth: and Allah is all-knowing, all-wise.

 

Verse 4:171

QARIB: people of the book, do not exaggerate your religion. Do not say about Allah except the truth. Indeed, the messiah, Jesus son of Mary, is only a messenger (and prophet) of Allah, and his word (be) which he gave to Mary, and a (created) spirit by him. So believe in Allah and his messengers and do not say: ‘trinity. ‘Refrain, it is better for you. Allah is only one god. Exaltations to him that he should have son! To him belongs all that is in the heavens and in the earth, it is sufficient that Allah is the guardian.

SHAKIR: o followers of the book! do not exceed the limits in your religion, and do not speak (lies) against Allah, but (speak) the truth; the messiah, Isa son of Marium is only a messenger of Allah and his word which he communicated to Marium and a spirit from him; believe therefore in Allah and his messengers, and say not, three. desist, it is better for you; Allah is only one Allah; far be it from his glory that he should have a son, whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is his, and Allah is sufficient for a protector

PICKTHAL: o people of the scripture! do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. the messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and his word which he conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from him. So believe in Allah and his messengers, and say not “three” – cease! (it is) better for you! – Allah is only one Allah. Far is it removed from his transcendent majesty that he should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as defender.

YUSUFALI: o people of the book! Commit no excesses in your religion: nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a messenger of Allah, and his word, which he bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from him: so believe in Allah and his messengers. Say not “trinity”: desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah: glory be to him: (far exalted is he) above having a son. to him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a disposer of affairs.

This is the 17th article of the series:” The Sons of the Lord God in Bible versus Quran”. 

In the Bible, Paul affirms the Faith in the Son of God by saying that Jesus is the son of God and he is the owner of everything; he is the lord of all.  The Noble Quran says that Jesus is but a Messenger and it is an unforgivable sin when you say or believe that the Almighty Creator has a son or sons; this major sin will lead to the Eternal Fire in the Hereafter.

In the Bible (Galatians 4:1-7), Paul says

What I am saying is that as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate.  He is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. The Sons of the Lord God in the Quran (17)

 

The Noble Quran makes the topic of the son(s) of God very clear and says that Allah, the Almighty Creator, has neither a son nor a partner.

In addition, The Quran makes the signs that Jesus was not god very understandable.

The Historical background of the verse 4:172:

The top Christians priests of Najran (the south of Saudi Arabia) went to the Prophet Muhammad and said: ‘O Muhammad, why do you insult our lord?’

Muhammad said: ‘And who is your lord?’

They said: ‘It is Jesus’.

Muhammad: ‘Why, what do I say about him?’ he asked.

They said: ‘You say he is the salve and messenger of Allah!’

Muhammad said to them: ‘It is not shameful for Jesus to be a slave of Allah’.

But they said: ‘It is shameful’,

And then the verse 4:172 (The Messiah, Jesus will never scorn to be a slave unto Allah) was revealed”.

It should be emphasized that it is unforgivable sin to say or to believe that the One Almighty Creator [who is Allah or God or the Lord or Jehovah or whatever name(s) you are giving Him] has a son or Sons.

From the Islamic point of view, the conclusion of this fundamental topic that may establish or destroy one’s faith is that:

Any one who believe that the Almighty Creator has a son or Sons; he messes up his faith and is considered as a disbeliever and in the afterlife he will end up as an eternal inhabitant of the Eternal Hell.

Any one who believes that the Almighty Creator has neither a son nor a partner, he has a good faith and is considered as a believer; and in the afterlife, he will end up as an eternal inhabitant of the Eternal Paradise. 

Verses 4:172-173 make the topic of the son(s) of God plain, clear and understandable.

The Historical background of the verse:

The meanings of verse 4:172

 

Jesus, the Messiah, whom you claim is a god or son of God, would never disdain, or scorn or reject haughtily, to be a servant of God, neither would the angels who are nigh, to God, disdain to be Allah’ servants.

this is a splendid digression [to the matter of the angels], and it is mentioned as a refutation of those who claim that the angels are gods or the daughters of God, just as He refuted, with what was stated before, the Christians who claim that which is the subject of the address to them [above]. Whoever disdains to worship Him, and waxes proud, He will assuredly muster all of them to Him in the Hereafter.

In other words, the verse says that Jesus will never scorn to be a slave unto Allah) he will never deny his servitude to Allah.

This was revealed in respect of the top Christians priests of Najran saying to the Prophet: “O Muhammad, what you say of Jesus is shameful”. Allah said to them: it is not shameful that Jesus is Allah’ servant, nor would the favored angels ever not acknowledge that they are servants of Allah. Whoever scorns to acknowledge that being his servant (and is proud) is too proud to believe in Allah, (all such) believers and unbelievers will Allah assemble unto Him on the Day of Judgment.

 

The meanings of verse 4:173

 

As for those who believed in Allah, Muhammad and the Quran and did righteous deeds, that are acts of obedience in that which is between them and their Lord, Allah will pay them in full their wages, the reward for faith and deeds, and He will give them more of His bounty, what no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no man’s heart has ever wished for.

And as for them who disdain and are too proud to believe in Allah Muhammad and the Quran, Allah will chastise them with a painful chastisement, which is the chastisement of the Eternal Fire, and they shall not find for themselves, besides God, that is, other than Him, any friend, to ward it off them, or helper, to protect them from it.

In other words, Allah will punish them with a painful doom; and they will not find for them, against Allah, any protecting friend, any relative to benefit them or helper to save them from Allah’s punishment.

PICKTHAL: the messiah will never scorn to be a slave unto Allah, nor will the favoured angels. whoso scorneth his service and is proud, all such will he assemble unto him;

YUSUFALI: christ disdaineth nor to serve and worship Allah, nor do the angels, those nearest (to Allah): those who disdain his worship and are arrogant,-he will gather them all together unto himself to (answer).

 

Verse 4:173

QARIB: as for those who believe and did good deeds, he will pay them in full their wages, and he will increase them from his bounty. as for those who despise and became proud, he will punish them with a painful punishment, and they will find neither a guide nor a helper for themselves, other than Allah.

SHAKIR: then as for those who believe and do good, he will pay them fully their rewards and give them more out of his grace; and as for those who disdain and are proud, he will chastise them with a painful chastisement. and they shall not find for themselves besides Allah a guardian or a helper

PICKTHAL: then, as for those who believed and did good works, unto them will he pay their wages in full, adding unto them of his bounty; and as for those who were scornful and proud, them will he punish with a painful doom. and they will not find for them, against Allah, any protecting friend or helper.

YUSUFALI: but to those who believe and do deeds of righteousness, he will give their (due) rewards,- and more, out of his bounty: but those who are disdainful and arrogant, he will punish with a grievous penalty; nor will they find, besides Allah, any to protect or help them.
